News UPDATE: Woman hit, critically hurt by car while running after person in SE Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Authorities have learned that the woman who was struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in southeast Albuquerque had been chasing after a man, reports KOAT.

Albuquerque Police confirmed the incident occurred on Central Avenue near Dallas Street, in the International District, at around 8:14 p.m.

Details regarding the circumstances of the event remain limited, but the woman was rushed to an area hospital, where she was listed in critical and unstable condition.

A preliminary investigation by the APD indicates “pedestrian error” led to the crash.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. No pending charges have been reported.

Authorities continue to investigate.
