Pedestrian hit, critically hurt in crash at International District intersection

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person was hospitalized Tuesday evening after being struck by a vehicle on Central Avenue in southeast Albuquerque, reports KOAT.

The incident occurred at the intersection with Pennsylvania Street Northeast, in the city’s International District. It was first reported by KOAT at 9:15 p.m.

The circumstances behind the event remain unclear, but the Albuquerque Police Department said the pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Authorities had the intersection blocked off during the emergency response and initial investigation.

No information on the driver has been released, and no charges have been reported at this time.
