Motorcyclist dies after crash involving semi at International District intersection

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person was fatally injured Monday morning due to a wreck involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck in east Albuquerque, reports KRQE.

The Albuquerque Police Department said the accident happened at the corner of Louisiana Boulevard Northeast and Copper Avenue Northeast, east of The Downs Racetrack and Casino. Officers responded to the scene after receiving a call shortly before 6:00 a.m.

Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances that led up to the crash, but the rider succumbed to their injuries.

An investigation is being handled by the APD’s Traffic Division. As of this writing, no charges have been filed.
