Settlement Paralegal

Parnall Law Firm seeks an experienced Settlement Paralegal to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have prior Personal Injury experience and familiarity with subrogation.

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide client with a complete detailed disbursement of their settlement funds including to negotiate insurance reimbursement and provider reimbursement, in order to maximize our clients’ compensation.

RESULTS / OUTCOMES (What you must get done.)

  • weekly firm wide huddle every Monday morning at 8:00
  • daily team mini huddle Tuesday through Friday at 8:00 am
  • biweekly meeting with Team Lead to go over individual metrics, and metrics of Team, fully prepared with supporting data.
  • settlement details on the Medicare portal for all settled cases within 24 hours of settlement.
  • that all claims on the subrogation ledgers of claims paid are related, withing 2 days of receipt of the final ledger, once the claim is settled.
  • that settlement checks have been received within 14 days of settlement date.
  • partial disbursements of all settlement funds within 5 days of receipt of the settlement check.
  • a second disbursement of funds, within 60 days of initial disbursement.
  • a final disbursement of all trust funds within 90 days of initial disbursement and close case.
  • overdue tasks never exceed 30.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • updating and finalizing settlement distribution packet
  • emails, and correspondence to adjusters to follow up for ledgers as needed
  • subrogation, lien, and medical bill balances in order to complete distributions in a timely manner.
  • all health insurance and med pay subrogation claims as well as all liens in a client’s file.
  • status comments updated in all cases in Settled 04 and Settled 06 cases.
