Albuquerque Police said the wreck occurred in the area of Coors Boulevard Northwest and Irving Boulevard Northwest, near the Paradise Hills Shopping Center. Officers and first responders were dispatched to the scene at about 10:00 p.m.
An early investigation shows two motorcycles were racing northbound on Coors Boulevard, and at one point, one bike struck a pedestrian who was using a designated crosswalk. Following the impact with the victim, the motorcycle proceeded to travel another 450 feet before hitting a curb, and then a fuel price sign and a tree at a gas station.
First responders pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
