Pedestrian left critically hurt after hit-and-run crash in NW Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person was seriously injured early Wednesday when they were hit by a vehicle in northwest Albuquerque’s SR Marmon area, reports KRQE.

The Albuquerque Police Department said the incident occurred near Quail Road Northwest and Bright Star Drive, just northwest of the AutoZone Auto Parts store. Officers were dispatched to the scene shortly before 1:00 a.m.

Investigators say a black sedan was traveling south of Bright Star Drive when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway.

First responders rushed the victim to University of New Mexico Hospital, where the patient was listed in critical condition.

The APD’s Motors Unit continues to investigate and search for the driver, who fled the scene without stopping.
