Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run near north Albuquerque intersection

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person has died following a hit-and-run pedestrian crash Thursday evening in north Albuquerque’s Alamedan Valley area, according to KOB4.

The incident occurred on the westbound lanes of Alameda Boulevard Northwest (New Mexico State Road 528) near Guadalupe Trail Northwest. It was first reported by APD Traffic at 7:43 p.m., when Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies had already arrived on the scene.

An investigation remains ongoing, but officials said a vehicle struck and killed the victim before it fled the scene.

All westbound lanes of Alameda Boulevard from 2nd Street were blocked off during the emergency response and investigation.

At this time, the sheriff’s office has not released a description of the fleeing vehicle and/or suspect.

 

Accident closes two lanes on I-40 WB near Netherwood Park

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Crews responded to a crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 40 in Albuquerque’s Netherwood Park area, according to NM Roads.

The collision occurred on the westbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 160, eastbound of University Boulevard Northeast. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 12:55 p.m.

Very few details have been made available, but the two right westbound lanes were closed in the immediate aftermath, causing significant delays in the area.

Local officials have not specified the circumstances of the accident or the kinds of vehicles involved.

No information regarding potential injuries or charges has been shared.

 

APD, AFR respond to collision on I-40 WB at 4th St

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A vehicle accident was reported late Friday morning on Interstate 40 in Albuquerque’s Near North Valley area, according to APD Traffic.

The crash happened on the westbound lanes of I-40 approaching 4th Street (Exit 158). Albuquerque Police and Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene at around 10:52 a.m.

At this time, neither agency has disclosed any details regarding the circumstances of the event or the types of vehicles involved.
