Pair of Crashes Reduces Southbound Coors Blvd to Single Lane

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person died Sunday morning following a pedestrian collision in northeast Albuquerque’s S Y Jackson area, according to KOAT.

The accident happened at the intersection of Tramway Boulevard Northeast and Montgomery Boulevard Northeast.

Albuquerque Police said the victim was on foot and trying to cross east on Tramway Boulevard before a southbound Toyota FJ Cruiser approached. Moments later, the pedestrian was hit by the vehicle, whose driver said they were driving at the posted speed limit.

First responders pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Their identity remains undisclosed at this time.

An investigation remains ongoing, but the APD said they believe the pedestrian was at fault in the fatal incident.

 

Authorities investigate fatal pedestrian crash on W 21st St in Curry County

CURRY COUNTY, NM — A 73-year-old man died last Wednesday, February 21, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing West 21st Street in northwest Clovis, reports the Clovis Police Department.

The fatal incident unfolded in the 1400 block of the road, at around 8:56 p.m. Clovis Police and Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly after.

A witness told authorities that the victim, Willie Hall, had entered the area through an alleyway when he began running northbound across the road. Moments later, he was hit by a westbound vehicle.

First responders rushed the male pedestrian to Plains Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced deceased, confirmed officials.

The driver stayed at the site and cooperated with an investigation, which remained in progress as of last Thursday, February 22.

 

 

APD responds to crash on Dr Martin Luther King Jr Ave NE near downtown Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A vehicle accident was reported last Tuesday, February 20, near Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque’s Huning Highlands area, according to APD Traffic.

The collision took place at the intersection of Dr Martin Luther King Jr Way Northeast and Locust Street Northeast. It was first reported by the APD at 9:22 a.m., when officers had already been dispatched to the scene.

At this time, no information regarding the circumstances of the event, the number of vehicles involved, or potential injuries has been made available.
