Pedestrian fatally hit by vehicle on Tramway Blvd in east Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A collision Thursday evening in east Albuquerque’s City View Estates area claimed the life of a pedestrian, according to KOB4.

Albuquerque Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Tramway Boulevard Northeast (New Mexico State Road 556) and Copper Avenue Northeast at about 7:30 p.m.

Details remain limited, but authorities said a pedestrian was hit and fatally injured by a vehicle in the area. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

While the striking vehicle stayed at the scene following the fatal incident, no information on the driver has been released. The APD has not indicated any pending charges at this time.

A section of northbound Tramway Boulevard was shut down at the intersection during the response and investigation.
