The incident occurred in the area of Louisiana Boulevard Northeast and Constitution Avenue Northeast, south of the I-40 ramps, at about 11:00 p.m.

An early investigation by Albuquerque Police indicates the pedestrian was crossing Louisiana Boulevard against the signal. While in the roadway, they were struck by a southbound car whose driver continued down Louisiana Boulevard without stopping.

Officers and first responders arrived on the scene to find the victim with no signs of life. The patient was rushed to UNMH where they were pronounced deceased.
