MCKINLEY COUNTY, NM — Several commercial motor vehicles were involved in a crash Friday morning on Interstate 40 near Continental Divide, according to New Mexico State Police.
The accident was reported on the eastbound lanes at mile marker 47, in an area between Grants and Gallup. It was first reported by NMSP at 7:42 a.m.
As details remain limited, it’s unclear what led up to the wreck or whether anyone was seriously injured.

A section of the eastbound interstate was shut down for more than four hours during the emergency response and initial investigation.
By 12:28 p.m., officials announced all lanes had been reopened to traffic.

APD called to wreck on I-40 WB at Juan Tabo Blvd in east Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Albuquerque Police responded to a collision last Friday, December 29, on Interstate 40 in east Albuquerque, according to APD Traffic.
The collision took place on the westbound highway before Exit 166 to Juan Tabo Boulevard Northeast. Officers arrived on the scene at around 1:54 p.m.
As of this writing, the department has not disclosed additional details regarding the cause of the wreck or the number of vehicles involved.

Accident closes section of Rio Grande Blvd NW in Old Town Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Albuquerque Police were dispatched to a collision on New Year’s Day near Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, according to APD Traffic.
Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Rio Grande Boulevard Northwest and Carson Road Northwest at around 1:27 p.m.
While the circumstances of the accident were not immediately disclosed, all northbound and southbound lanes of Rio Grande Boulevard Northwest were shut down during the response.

By 2:35 p.m., over an hour later, crews had cleared the scene from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to the public.
