Multi-vehicle wreck reported on I-40 in NE Guadalupe County

GUADALUPE COUNTY, NM — New Mexico State Police responded to a crash involving several vehicles late Monday morning on Interstate 40 in Cuervo, according to KRQE.

The accident was reported on the westbound lanes of I-40 at milepost 291, some time before 12:00 p.m. Shortly after, NMSP had part of the westbound highway from milepost 329 in Tucumcari closed.

No information about the cause or nature of the wreck has been made available, but on the same day, the New Mexico Department of Transportation cited severe winter weather throughout the area that also forced a partial closure of Interstate 25 at the Colorado border.

As of this writing, local agencies have not confirmed any injuries in connection to the multi-vehicle crash.

 

APD responds to collision off Zuni Rd in SE Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Albuquerque Police were called to a wreck last Wednesday, January 3, in southeast Albuquerque’s South San Pedro neighborhood, according to APD Traffic.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Ortiz Drive Southeast and Zuni Road Southeast at around 3:23 p.m.

As of this writing, the department has not released further information regarding the circumstances of the accident or the people involved.


No injuries or hospital transports from the scene were immediately reported.

 

Accident closes part of Sandia Crest Rd near north Cedar Crest

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — Deputies responded to a crash Sunday afternoon on Sandia Crest Road near north Cedar Crest, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision occurred on a stretch of the road (New Mexico State Road 536) at mile marker 4, in an area south of Tree Springs Trailhead. It was first reported by the BCSO at 12:54 p.m., after the road was already shut down in both directions.

Motorists were asked to avoid the scene and seek alternate routes as officials responded.

The events leading up to the wreck have not been disclosed, but extremely icy and snowy weather conditions were reported in the area at the time.


No injuries have been confirmed.
