ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A man lost his life last Friday, January 12, after being struck by a vehicle during a physical confrontation in northwest Albuquerque, reports KOAT.

Albuquerque Police said the incident occurred near the Santa Fe Village Dog Park, off of Bogart Street Northwest, at about 11:00 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate Guadalupe Maldonado had driven to the area with a friend and confronted his wife and Christopher Facey, who she had met at the park.

Facey was behind the wheel of his own vehicle when Maldonado approached and walked in front of the vehicle. Albuquerque Police said Facey then accelerated, causing his vehicle to run over Maldonado.

First responders rushed Maldonado to an urgent care facility in the area, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

On Saturday, the following day, Facey was taken into custody. He faces charges of “second degree murder, accident involving death and homicide by vehicle.”
