DOÑA ANA COUNY, NM — Multiple crews were called after a semi-trailer carrying gasoline overturned and caught fire Wednesday afternoon in southeast Las Cruces, according to KOAT.

New Mexico State Police said the rollover wreck occurred at the Interstate 25 and Interstate 10 interchange. KOAT reported on the event at about 3:13 p.m., when the scene had already been cleared.

While the cause of the incident has not been disclosed, preliminary details indicate the fuel tanker rolled and subsequently erupted in flames.

Members of the Las Cruces Fire Department, who arrived to find the vehicle engulfed, were able to extinguish the blaze with the help of a foam cannon. A hazmat team was also dispatched to assist in the response.

No injuries to the driver or anyone else have been reported.

A section of the interstate was shut down as officials conducted an investigation.
