ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A 30-year-old Santa Fe resident was taken into custody Thursday after a police pursuit and crash near east Pojoaque, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Camino Del Rincon and Calle Estrella.
Preliminary details indicate SFCSO deputies were initially called to the area to back up Pojoaque Tribal Police with regards to a collision and a potential DWI who authorities.
Following a brief chase, the suspect, Nicholas Martinez, was apprehended.
Martinez, who reportedly gave off a strong oder of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, was subsequently taken to a local hospital and then released.
Upon further investigation, Martinez’s display of impairment and his refusal to consent to chemical testing later led to his arrest.
No major injuries have been confirmed.
Crews respond to accident on NM-117 EB in Cibola County
CIBOLA COUNTY, NM — An eastbound lane on New Mexico State Road 117 in Grants remains closed following a crash Thursday morning, according to NM Roads.
The accident happened at mile marker 19, in an area about six miles south of Pietown Road. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 11:20 a.m.
The circumstances of the crash remain unclear, but motorists were warned of minor delays in the region as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
As of 2:00 p.m. Friday, the following day, authorities have not shared any updates on the scene conditions.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
APD, AFR dispatched to crash on Wyoming Blvd in NE Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A vehicle accident was reported late Thursday morning in Albuquerque’s North Easterns neighborhood, according to APD Traffic.
The collision took place at the intersection of Wyoming Boulevard Northeast and Menaul Boulevard Northeast. Albuquerque Police and Fire Rescue crews were called to the scene some time before 12:00 p.m.
Following the event, neither agency has released any information regarding the cause or nature of the crash.
