GALLUP, NM – According to KOAT, a driver was given a suspended sentence for driving through a parade and injuring 15 people near Historic Route 66 and S 2nd St on Aug. 4, 2023.
Officers received reports of people drinking in a vehicle along the parade route on S 7th St and W Coal Ave. The driver, Jeff Irving, sped off when police approached his car. He then drove east on Westbound Coal Ave.
Irving eventually crashed. He told police he had been consuming alcohol. Authorities arrested him and gave him a breath test. He blew a .24 on the test.
Irving injured 15 people in the incident. Two of the 15 people were police officers.
Authorities charged Irving with aggravated DWI, aggravated fleeing of a law enforcement officer, leaving the scene of an accident, expired registration of a motor vehicle, possession of an open container, and no proof of insurance.
A judge sentenced Irving to five years of supervised probation. He must also complete a recovery program.
Wreck disrupts traffic near Group Nine Industrial Park
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – An auto accident disrupted traffic on I-25 at mile marker 230 on Wednesday, according to NMRoads.
The incident happened around 11:42 a.m.
Officials have not provided additional information.
Emergency crews clear roadway of rolled-over propane truck on NM 217
BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM – According to BCSO, emergency crews have removed the rolled-over propane tank from the roadway on NM 217 near mile marker 3.
The propane truck overturned and was leaking around 2:30 on Friday.
Rescue crews transported the two occupants of the truck to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Crews towed away the propane truck on Tuesday.
