SANTA FE COUNTY, NM — A 53-year-old driver was arrested for suspected impairment last Friday, January 5, following a single-vehicle wreck in east Los Alamos, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident occurred on New Mexico State Road 4, at the intersection with NM-502.
Preliminary details indicate the suspect, Henry Redwine, purchased a bottle of vodka prior to getting behind the wheel of a vehicle and causing it to strike a median.
No other vehicles were impacted by the wreck, but responding deputies said Redwine, who refused to consent to Standard Field Sobriety Tests or a breath test, displayed signs of impairment at the scene. He was subsequently arrested.
