DUI suspect arrested following crash on NM-4 in Los Alamos

SANTA FE COUNTY, NM — A 53-year-old driver was arrested for suspected impairment last Friday, January 5, following a single-vehicle wreck in east Los Alamos, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the incident occurred on New Mexico State Road 4, at the intersection with NM-502.

Preliminary details indicate the suspect, Henry Redwine, purchased a bottle of vodka prior to getting behind the wheel of a vehicle and causing it to strike a median.

No other vehicles were impacted by the wreck, but responding deputies said Redwine, who refused to consent to Standard Field Sobriety Tests or a breath test, displayed signs of impairment at the scene. He was subsequently arrested.

No injuries have been reported following the crash.

APD called to collision off San Mateo Blvd in SE Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A vehicle crash was reported last Thursday, January 4, in Albuquerque’s Highland Business neighborhood, according to APD Traffic.

The accident happened at the corner of Highland Avenue Southeast and San Mateo Boulevard. Officers responded to the area at around 9:30 a.m.

Following the event, the department has not provided additional information regarding the involved vehicles or the cause of the collision.


No major injuries or hospital transports have been reported.

 

Accident closes part of northbound 2nd St in south Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Deputies responded to a collision late Monday evening in south Albuquerque’s San Jose neighborhood, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The wreck took place at the intersection of Rio Bravo Road (New Mexico State Road 500) and 2nd Street Southwest (NM-303). It was first reported by the BCSO just after 4:00 p.m., when deputies had already arrived on the scene.

All northbound lanes of 2nd Street were shut down as officials processed the area. Motorists were instructed to seek alternate routes.

By 5:22 p.m., more than 80 minutes later, crews had cleared the scene from the roadway, leaving all lanes at the intersection open to traffic.

No information regarding the circumstances of the event or potential injuries has been made available.
