Crews respond to crash on I-10 in SE Doña Ana County

DOÑA ANA COUNTY, NM — A vehicle wreck Friday morning closed a section of westbound Interstate 10 near Vado, according to the New Mexico Department of Transportation.

The accident happened on the westbound lanes of I-10 at Exit 155 to Vado Drive (New Mexico State Road 227/County Road B19). It was first recorded by NMDOT at 7:26 a.m.

Officials have not released information regarding the cause of the wreck, but all three westbound lanes were blocked in the immediate aftermath.

Motorists were asked to slow down and use extra caution, though a detour was put in place at Stern Drive. Delays were expected in the area.

As of this writing, local agencies have not confirmed any major injuries in connection to the wreck.
