BCSO responds to injury crash on La Vega Dr SW near South Valley

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — At least one person was injured late Sunday night due to a collision near South Valley’s Five Points neighborhood, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident took place in the 300 block of La Vega Drive Southwest. It was first reported by the BCSO shortly before 12:00 a.m., when deputies had already arrived on the scene.

Officials have not provided any information indicating the cause of the wreck, but injuries of a potential hip fracture were reported.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of La Vega Drive were shut down in the area during the emergency response and initial investigation.


As of this writing, it remains unclear how many vehicles were involved or whether any charges are expected to be filed.
