ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person died Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle in Albuquerque’s International District, according to KRQE.
The fatal incident occurred on the westbound side of Central Avenue Southeast, near Utah Street Northeast.
Few details regarding the circumstances of the event have been released, but witnesses said a car was heading westbound on Central Avenue when it hit a male pedestrian. The driver then continued away from the scene without stopping to render aid.
First responders pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed at this time.
The Albuquerque Police Department continues to investigate.
