ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Authorities were dispatched to a crash Wednesday morning that led to major delays on Interstate 40, north of downtown Albuquerque, reports KOB4.
The collision happened on the eastbound lanes of I-40 at Exit 159 to the I-25 interchange (Big I), in the Santa Barbara-Martineztown area. It was first reported by KOB4 at 8:07 a.m.
Crash details have not been released to the public, but three right lanes and the right shoulder were blocked during the emergency response. The scene created a traffic backup that stretched all the way down to Rio Grande Boulevard and toward Coors Boulevard.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m., all travel lanes had been restored to traffic.
No information regarding the involved parties or potential injuries has been shared at this time.
