3 sent to hospital after multi-vehicle crash on E Jemez Rd in Los Alamos

LOS ALAMOS COUNTY, NM — A crash involving four vehicles Tuesday morning in Los Alamos sent three people to the hospital, according to Los Alamos Reporter.

Los Alamos Police Department officials signaled that the “truck route” is expected to remain shut down for an extended time following a major accident in the area of East Jemez Road and La Mesita Road.

The circumstances behind the multi-vehicle wreck have not been disclosed, but the Los Alamos Fire Department joined the Los Alamos Police Department at the scene and worked to transport the victims to an area hospital. The extent of the patient’s conditions has not been made public.

Motorists were urged to avoid the crash site and find other routes.

Accident reduces I-25 SB to single lane near Albuquerque International Sunport

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Drivers faced delays following a crash early Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 25 in south Albuquerque, according to NM Roads.

The collision was reported on the southbound lanes of I-25 approaching Exit 220 to Rio Bravo Boulevard Southeast (New Mexico State Road 500), near the Albuquerque International Sunport. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 12:17 p.m.

Very few details have been released at this time, but the right two lanes and right shoulder were blocked in the immediate aftermath, reducing the southbound highway to a single open lane.

As of this writing, it’s unclear what led up to the accident or whether anyone suffered serious injuries.

 

Traffic investigation closes part of Cerrillos Rd in SW Santa Fe

SANTA FE, NM — A section of southbound Cerrillos Road in southwest Santa Fe was reduced to a single lane Tuesday afternoon following a wreck, according to a community Facebook group page.

The accident was reported at the intersection with Zafarano Drive, at around 12:35 p.m.

Local officials have not provided any information about the cause or nature of the crash, but Santa Fe Trails Transit announced that bus Route 24 would not be able to service Zafarano Drive immediately following the incident.

As of this writing, no major injuries or hospital transports from the scene have been confirmed.
