Leaving my friends apt I tripped on something in the parking lot-fell flat on my face. Really embarrassed, I jumped to my feet & raced to the car hoping no one saw. When I got home, I noticed my entire right hand & knee were already red & swollen. I went to urgent care had broken bone in approx 21 pieces!!! (Plus other injuries). A coworker told me to call an attorney-had never even spoken w an attorney & had no idea what to say- that I was completely sober, fell down & now I have a purple cast on my arm!! Really????.! Over & over in my head I could hear my coworker saying ‘hurt call Burt’ !! So I called. They were all so friendly, courteous, respectful & no one laughed when I said I fell! I had never been through any insurance claim before so I called knowing absolutely nothing!! Everyone was very patient & explained everything so I could understand cause I wasn’t familiar with attorney and court ‘language’. Deborah, my contact person was the greatest- she kept me informed through texts, phone calls & e-mails everything very detailed that I didn’t even have questions to ask her. I felt so comfortable asking her anything because she never made me feel ‘less educated’. (Not sure how to word it) Anyway, I truly thought it would be a bust & was wasting everyone’s time. I thought if I was lucky maybe I could get a steak dinner outta this.. lol— Approx 7 months later my attorney was negotiating a deal & a month later I got the phone call to pick up my check!!! My case settled out of court for $25,000!!!! I was so surprised!! I was speechless!!!
