LAS CRUCES, NM — An 18-month-old girl was killed Sunday evening when she was struck by a driver in a Las Cruces parking lot, according to KVIA.
Las Cruces Police responded to the scene at Veterans Memorial Park, off Roadrunner Parkway, shortly after 5:30 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a man, who was driving a lifted truck, was pulling out of a parking space when it hit the child.
Authorities said the young girl was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver remained after the accident and cooperated with officers.
At this time, it is unclear whether any charges are expected to be filed.
An investigation remains underway.
