Woman sentenced to house arrest for fatal hit-and-run near Fairview Memorial Park

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KRQE, a woman was sentenced this week for a hit-and-run that killed a man in a neighborhood near Avenida Cesar Chavez and Yale Boulevard Southeast on October 10, 2022.

Scott Toole, 34, was working under a Ford Expedition held up by jacks when a PT Cruiser driven by Jazmin Anesi collided with the SUV, knocking it off the jacks. The SUV fell onto Toole and killed him.

Following the collision, Anesi fled the scene.

Investigators initially thought another woman was driving the PT Cruiser, but witnesses informed them two other women were in the vehicle. Police then focused their investigation on Anesi.

Authorities charged Anesi with vehicular homicide. She pleaded it down to conspiracy to leave the scene and will spend 18 months under house arrest with an ankle monitor.

Collision reported on New Mexico 126 near Cuba

CUBA, NM – A crash was reported on New Mexico 126 near mile marker 6 Tuesday morning, according to NMRoads.

The incident occurred around 7:53 a.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the accident.

Crash disrupts traffic on Interstate 40 near Moriarity

MORIARITY, NM – According to NMRoads, a wreck blocked traffic on Interstate 40 westbound near mile marker 186 Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 7:41 a.m.

Officials have not provided more information.
