Woman sentenced for fatal wrong-way crash on I-25 in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, NM – According to KOB, the woman who caused a fatal wrong-way collision that killed two people on I-25 has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.

On March 2, 2022, Jeannine Jaramillo called 911, saying her boyfriend kidnapped her at knifepoint. This led to a high-speed chase on I-25 going the wrong way.

Police eventually caught up to Jaramillo, who had crashed on the side of I-25. Authorities found Jaramillo was the only occupant of the car.

Frank Lovato, a retired Las Vegas firefighter, collided head-on with Santa Fe Police Officer Robert Duran as he was pursuing Jaramillo. They both died in the collision.

Authorities charged Jaramillo with two counts of first-degree murder. A jury found Jaramillo guilty of both counts last week.

A judge sentenced Jaramillo to 30 years for each count of first-degree murder.

Driver strikes and injures pedestrian on Old Coors Dr SW near Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A driver collided with and hurt a pedestrian on Old Coors Dr SW near Sage Rd SW on Thursday, according to BCSO.

The driver hit the victim around 4:59 p.m.

First responders transported the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Crews shut down the area to process the scene following the collision.

Emergency crews respond to wreck in north Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KKOB Traffic, first responders were called to the scene of an accident at I-25 SB and San Mateo Blvd NE on Thursday.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 3:01 p.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
