Woman killed in hit-and-run collision on U.S. 60 in Socorro County

SOCORRO COUNTY, NN – A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Socorro County on Monday morning, Country Herald reported.

The crash took place on U.S. 60 westbound near mile marker 135 at about 10 a.m. The identity of the victim has not been released.

New Mexico State Police said the driver who hit the woman left the scene afterwards. The westbound lanes of U.S. 60 were shut down during the accident response and investigation.

So far there is no description of the driver or vehicle being sought, and NMSP are asking for the public’s help in solving the case. Investigators are looking for witnesses or anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area at the time of the collision.

Motorcycle rider dies following collision in Farmington

FARMINGTON, NM – A collision in Farmington last week claimed the life of a motorcyclist, according to The Journal.

The accident took place Nov. 4 on East 20th Street at 6:40 p.m. Investigators determined that the motorcyclist, 26-year-old Ariel Delgado, was weaving in and out of traffic while traveling at high speed.

A driver was making a left turn near the intersection of North Butler Avenue when the vehicle was struck b the motorcycle. Delgado was pronounced dead after being taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center.

Multi-vehicle accident shuts down lanes on I-40 eastbound

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A crash at the Big I in Albuquerque snarled traffic on Wednesday afternoon.

An advisory posted by NMRoads at 2:51 p.m. stated that multiple vehicles were involved in the wreck on eastbound Interstate 40 at mile marker 159, near the ramps for Interstate 25. There was no immediate word on whether anyone was injured.

The right three lanes and right shoulder of the interstate were closed while emergency crews worked the scene. Drivers were advised to slow down and expect delays.
