Woman killed by truck while being dropped off in NE Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A woman died after being hit by a truck in northeast Albuquerque last week, according to a KOB report.

The victim was one of two passengers being dropped off Wednesday at about 5 p.m. by a Ford Truck in the area of Sonrisa Place and Anaheim Avenue.   According to police, the truck did not come to a complete stop, and the vehicle ran over one of the passengers before crashing into a nearby home.

The woman was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.

Multi-vehicle crash shuts down New Mexico 217 in both directions

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a multi-vehicle wreck on Saturday afternoon.

According to a traffic alert posted at 2 p.m., four vehicles were involved in the crash.  As a result of the incident, New Mexico 217 was closed in both directions at New Mexico 333.

No major injuries were reported at the time, the sheriff’s office said.

Band members recovering following collision near Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Three members of a Japanese band were injured when their tour van was involved in a crash east of Albuquerque recently, KOB reports.

The accident occurred May 18 on westbound Interstate 40 near Moriarty.   The action comic punk band Peelander-Z was riding in their tour van when their vehicle was struck from behind by a semi-truck, less than an hour before the group was expected to arrive at its next stop, at Inside Out in Albuquerque.

The three members were seriously injured and hospitalized in the intensive care unit.  They canceled all upcoming performances due to the crash.
