Woman killed by hit-and-run driver on St Francis Dr in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, NM — A 58-year-old woman died Saturday night after a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Saint Francis Drive in southwest Santa Fe, reports KRQE.

The fatal incident occurred on a span of the road (U.S. Highway 285) between Cordova Road and Alta Vista Street, near Salvador Perez Park, on February 4.

Details remain limited, but witnesses said female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle whose driver initially stopped but then fled the scene.

According to Santa Fe Police, the female pedestrian was wearing dark clothes and was outside of a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash. It was unclear whether the victim died at the scene or at a hospital.

An investigation and search for the fleeing driver remains ongoing.
