
SANDOVAL COUNTY, NM — A woman died Tuesday night following a pedestrian crash involving multiple vehicles in Rio Rancho’s Urban Center, reports KRQE.
The incident unfolded at the intersection of New Mexico State Road 528 and Southern Boulevard Southeast. Rio Rancho Police responded to the scene shortly after receiving calls at about 10:09 p.m.
Preliminary details indicate that the woman ignored or failed to acknowledge traffic safety signals before entering the intersection and into traffic. Moments later ,she was hit by an unspecified number of vehicles.
Officers arrived in the area to find the victim deceased, confirmed the RRPD. Her identity remains undisclosed at this time.
Authorities have not yet released any information on the vehicles involved. It was unclear whether or not every driver remained at the scene following the event.
