DOÑA ANA COUNTY, NM — A vehicle accident and fire were reported early Friday afternoon on Interstate 10 near the community of Vado, according to NM Roads.
Emergency crews responded to the scene on the eastbound lanes at milepost 156, about 8 miles west of Anthony. It was first reported by NM Roads at 12:58 p.m.
It was unclear what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved, but motorists were asked to exercise extreme caution in the area.
As of 1:48 p.m., nearly an hour later, the scene remained on the roadway.
Authorities have not confirmed any serious injuries at this time.
