Update: More info available on fatal 3-vehicle crash in Altura Village

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to ABQ RAW, additional details have been released concerning a deadly three-vehicle collision on Interstate 40 near the San Mateo overpass on Tuesday afternoon.

The drivers of a blue Dodge pickup truck, a gray Hyundai sedan, and a semi-truck collided around 2:40 p.m.

Emergency crews extricated a person from the pickup truck and pronounced them dead at the scene.

It is unclear if anyone else was hurt in the accident.

The incident is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police and the Albuquerque Police Department.

Pickup truck driver killed after colliding with semi-truck on Orla Road in Lea County

LEA COUNTY, NM – A pickup truck driver died after he slammed into a semi-truck on Orla Road Tuesday morning, according to News West 9.

Dominick Calderon, 19, was driving a maroon 2016 GMC Sierra when he struck a white 2007 Freightliner with a tank trailer and became pinned underneath it.

First responders pronounced Calderon dead at the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the Lea County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.
