SFPD closes part of eastbound W Zia Rd in SW Santa Fe for traffic investigation

SANTA FE, NM — A section of eastbound West Zia Road was blocked Tuesday morning in southwest Santa Fe for a traffic investigation, according to the Santa Fe Police Department.

The closure was reported at the intersection with Galisteo Road, just before Zia Road Rail Runner Station. Department officials posted about the event on the SFPD Facebook page shortly after 8:00 a.m.


At this time, authorities have not confirmed whether the traffic incident was a collision, but the eastbound lanes of West Zia Road remained closed in the area for nearly two hours.

By 9:54 a.m., the closure was lifted and all travel lanes were reopened to the public.

Local agencies have not reported any major injuries in connection with the incident.
