BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — Multiple people were sent to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after a crash involving at least five vehicles in southwest Albuquerque, reports the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened on the eastbound lanes of Bridge Boulevard Southwest, near Saavedra Road Southwest. Deputies responded to the scene shortly before 2:44 p.m.
It was unclear what led up to the wreck, but officials said the “serious crash” resulted in multiple patients being transported to an area hospital. The severity of their conditions has not been disclosed.
All of eastbound Bridge Boulevard in the area was shut down during the emergency response and investigation.

Shortly after 3:30p.m., more than 45 minutes later, the sheriff’s office reported all lanes had been reopened to the public.
