Several injured in accident involving charter bus on I-10 in Hidalgo County

HIDALGO COUNTY, NM – Rescue crews responded to a crash involving a charter bus in Hidalgo County on Thursday night.

According to a release from Hidalgo County Fire Rescue, the accident took place on Interstate 10 around the 33 mile marker, about 10 miles east of Lordsburg.

Crews arrived to find that the bus had flipped off of the roadway while traveling westbound. About 30 patients were extricated from the bus with a few taken to a nearby hospital and 2 airlifted from the scene.

No details were released on the conditions of those injured. The right lane of the interstate was closed during the accident response.

Crash shuts down Tapia Boulevard in South Valley

SOUTH VALLEY, NM – An accident disrupted traffic in a section of the South Valley on Saturday evening.

In a traffic alert posted at 5:40 p.m., the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the scene at Tapia Boulevard SW and Valley Road SW.

All lanes of Tapia Boulevard were shut down in both directions while the crash was being cleared.

Lanes closed on interstate east of Las Cruces due to accident

LAS CRUCES, NM – Closures were reported on a portion of Interstate 10 on Saturday morning due to a crash.

According to an advisory posted on NMRoads at 6:39 a.m., the incident took place on 1-10 eastbound at mile marker 154, nine miles east of Las Cruces.

The driving and middle lanes of the interstate were closed to traffic as a result.
