Semi-truck catches fire after collision with vehicle in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – First responders were called to a fiery crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 40 last week.

According to a post from Albuquerque Fire Rescue, the incident occurred Wednesday night on I-40 eastbound just east of Louisiana Boulevard at about 9:12 p.m.

A commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle collided, causing the truck to catch fire. Three people were out of the vehicle when AFR crews arrived. Two of them required immediate transport for medical treatment while the other was evaluated at the scene and did not require transport.

Due to the fuel load of the semi-truck and cargo, officials said a water shuttle was initiated and a water tender from Bernalillo County Fire Rescue responded to assist with water supply. A total of 9 AFR units responded and 1 water tender from BCFR.

New Mexico State Police are investigating the accident.

Five-vehicle collision shuts down stretch of Interstate 40

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A multi-vehicle collision shut down a portion of Interstate 40 in Albuquerque on Thursday night.

In a traffic alert at 10:20 p.m., the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said five vehicles were involved in the incident but no major injuries or EMS transport were reported.

The wreck blocked I-40 westbound at Atrisco Vista Boulevard while first responders moved vehicles that were impeding traffic out of the lanes of the interstate.

Drivers were advised to expect delays and potential diversions of westbound traffic leaving Albuquerque. All lanes of westbound I-40 were reported reopened at 11:41 p.m.

Interstate 10 west of Las Cruces closed due to crash

LAS CRUCES, NM – A traffic advisory was posted Saturday afternoon following an accident west of las Cruces.

A notification on NMRoads at 4:17 p.m. stated that the crash took place on Interstate 10 eastbound at mile marker 115.

The passing left lane of the interstate was closed while emergency crews were clearing the roadway.
