Semi-truck accident reported on I-40 EB near Tijeras

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — Deputies responded to a wreck involving a semi-truck Tuesday night on Interstate 40 near Tijeras, according to KRQE.

The crash impacted the eastbound interstate near Exit 175 into the village and was first reported by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office at 9:51 p.m.

Officials did not say what caused the accident or whether another vehicle was involved, but only one eastbound lane was left open.

Motorists were advised to detour around the area.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. the next morning, the scene had been cleared from the roadway.


It was not immediately clear whether anyone was hurt.
