Semi-truck accident in Torrance County injures 1, blocks I-40

TORRANCE COUNTY, NM – Emergency crews responded to an accident involving a semi-truck in Torrance County last week, according to KRQE.

The crash took place Wednesday night along Interstate 40 eastbound near mile marker 231 at about 8:30 p.m.

One person was injured and flown to a hospital in the Albuquerque area. No injuries were reported among the first responders.

The wreck resulted in a fire and caused the closure of a stretch of I-40 in the area.

Rollover crash on I-40 shuts down lanes near Route 66 casino

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A rollover crash restricted traffic in both directions along a portion of Interstate 40 in Bernalillo County on Saturday afternoon.

A traffic alert from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office at 1:19 p.m. stated deputies were at the scene of the wreck on I-40 near the Route 66 casino.

Traffic was reduced to one lane on eastbound and westbound I-40 while the scene was being cleared. No major injuries were reported.

U.S. 380 eastbound closed due to accident east of Roswell

ROSWELL, NM – The New Mexico Department of Transportation alerted drivers to an accident on U.S. 380 in Chaves County on Friday afternoon.

A notification on NMRoads at 4:08 p.m. said the crash happened at mile marker 169, four miles east of Bottomless State Park.

Motorists were advised to use caution, reduce their speed, and watch for all emergency personnel and equipment in the area.
