SANDOVAL COUNTY, NM — A man was fatally hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in a north Rio Rancho residential neighborhood, according to KOAT.
The incident unfolded at a crosswalk off Valle Alto Drive Northeast, near Rio Rancho High School. It was first reported at about 5:53 a.m.
Rio Rancho Police Department officials have shared any details on the involved driver or vehicle, but officers were joined by Rio Rancho Fire Rescue crews at the scene.
Authorities confirmed the victim ultimately died from injuries suffered in the crash despite medical attention from first responders.
An investigation remains in progress.
