RRPD investigates crash on NM-528 in NE Rio Rancho

SANDOVAL COUNTY, NM — Rio Rancho Police were called to a collision Thursday afternoon on New Mexico State Road 528 in northeast Rio Rancho, according to Rio Rancho Police Department.

The accident was reported at Iris Road, near Rio Rancho Fire Station #3, in the Rivers Edge neighborhood. Officers responded to the scene shortly before 12:57 p.m.

As of this writing, authorities have not released the cause of the crash, but motorists were asked to avoid the area as an investigation was being conducted. All traffic on NM-528 was forced to divert from the scene.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured in the event.
