Rescue crews extricate man trapped after crash on New Mexico 64

TAOS, NM – Emergency crews came to the aid of a man who had been involved in a crash in northern New Mexico last week.

According to Taos Fire Rescue, the rollover accident occurred Tuesday, Dec. 9 at about 2:15 p.m. near the 244-mile marker of New Mexico 64.

The Taos County Sheriff’s Office arrived in the area and reported locating a camper shell but were unable to find the vehicle. Taos Central Dispatch then received a 911 call from a man saying that he had wrecked his vehicle down an embankment and was trapped. Deputies located the vehicle down the embankment with the man pinned inside.

Taos Fire Rescue found the vehicle in a culvert. They were able to stabilize it and extricate the driver, the only occupant. The man was taken to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The Taos County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.

Crash shuts down lane on Interstate 40 in Tucumcari

TUCUMCARI, NM – A crash slowed traffic on a portion of Interstate 40 in Quay County early Saturday morning.

An advisory on NMRoads at 6:43 a.m. stated that the incident took place on I- 40 eastbound at mile marker 334 in Tucumcari. The right lane was closed while the wreck was being cleared, and officials said there was no alternate route available.

Drivers were advised to use extreme caution, slow down, obey posted signs, and watch for emergency personnel and equipment.

Westbound Rio Bravo Boulevard closed due to accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a crash in Albuquerque late Sunday night.

According to a traffic alert from the BCSO at 11:16 p.m., the accident caused the closure of westbound Rio Bravo Boulevard at Coors Boulevard. There were no reported injuries at the time of the incident.

All lanes were reported to have reopened about 30 minutes later.
