Police continue to investigate wreck near McKinley

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KRQE, the Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a crash that occurred at San Mateo Blvd NE and Cherokee Rd NE on Jan 11.

Eddie Madrid, 18, was driving a grey Ford F-150 north on San Mateo Blvd NE when he crashed into the curb around 2 a.m.

First responders transported six of the seven people occupying the truck to an area hospital. One person was ejected from the truck and had moderate injuries. Madrid and two other passengers were seriously hurt. .

Madrid told officers he had been drinking before the wreck. He said there was an argument between the passengers leading up to the collision. Another passenger told authorities Madrid jerked the steering wheel during the argument, which caused the wreck.

Authorities charged Madrid with great bodily harm by vehicle. He was also charged with homicide by vehicle because it was unclear if one of the victims was going to survive.

Officials have not provided an update on the incident.

Wreck reported on NM 146 near Hachita

HACHITA, NM – A crash was reported on NM 146 near mile marker 19 Thursday, according to NMRoads.

The incident occurred around 7:06 a.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.

Emergency crews respond to crash on US 380 near Bingham

BINGHAM, NM – According to NMRoads, first responders were called to the scene of an accident on US 380 near mile marker 43 Thursday.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 9:17 a.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
