ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning while attempting to cross an I-40 on-ramp in west Albuquerque.
According to KRQE, the unidentified victim was crossing the I-40 east on-ramp from the northbound lanes of Unser Boulevard at about 5:40 a.m. when they were struck by a white Dodge pickup truck.
The driver of the Dodge told police they saw an object in the roadway and attempted to avoid hitting it but ended up striking the pedestrian with the passenger side of the truck.
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges are pending against the driver involved as of this writing.
