Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle on 1st St NW in downtown Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person died early Thursday after a pedestrian crash in downtown Albuquerque’s Wells Park neighborhood, according to KOB4.

The incident was reported in the area of 1st Street Northwest and McKnight Avenue. Albuquerque Police were dispatched to the scene at about 4:00 a.m.

While the circumstances of the event were not immediately clear, officers arrived to find the pedestrian deceased and lying in the roadway.

A section of 1st Avenue Northwest between McKnight Avenue and Interstate 40 was shut down in both directions during the response.

Authorities did not say whether the driver who hit the victim remained at the scene. No charges have been reported as of this writing.
