ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person was rushed to a hospital Tuesday evening after a pedestrian crash in northeast Albuquerque’s Academy Acres North area, reports KRQE.

The incident unfolded in the 5400 block of San Antonio Drive. Albuquerque Police were called to the scene at about 5:00 p.m.

According to an early investigation, the victim was running into traffic lanes outside of a marked crosswalk. While they were able to bypass vehicles in one lane, they were struck by a vehicle as they proceeded into the second lane.

The driver of the striking vehicle said they did not immediately see the pedestrian travel into the roadway because of slow-moving traffic at the time.

First responders rushed the victim to a local hospital. No information regarding the extent of their injuries has been disclosed, but the patient was last listed in stable condition.

An investigation remains underway.
