Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicles in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, NM – Police in Las Cruces are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on Saturday night.

According to the police department’s Facebook post, police and fire units were dispatched to the 2200 block of north Telshor Boulevard shortly after 9:30 p.m. First responders found a 47-year-old male pedestrian dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation determined that the man entered the roadway going east to west across Telshor Boulevard when he was struck by a Chevrolet Impala that was headed north. The initial impact knocked the pedestrian into the southbound lane, where he was struck by at least one vehicle that was heading south. He may have been hit by multiple southbound vehicles.

The driver of the Impala, age 24, was not injured, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Other drivers involved left the scene heading south on Telshor. Police said it’s possible they did not know that they had struck the pedestrian.

Interstate 25 north of Socorro shut down due to crash

SOCORRO, NM – According to NMRoads, a crash impacted traffic along a stretch of Interstate 25 in Socorro County on Wednesday morning.

The accident took place on I-25 north at mile marker 167, 17 miles north of Socorro.

The right lane of the interstate was shut down while emergency crews responded to the wreck.

Accident leaves disabled truck blocking lane on New Mexico 68

VELARDE, NM -Crews were dispatched to an accident involving a truck in Rio Arriba County on Wednesday afternoon.

An advisory on NMRoads at about 3 p .m. stated that the disabled truck was blocking the northbound lane of New Mexico 68 at mile marker 16, two miles north of Velarde.

Emergency services were reported to be at the scene and working to clear the roadway.
