Officials release video of motorcycle vs. pedestrian crash near downtown Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to ABQ Raw, officials have released video of a motorcycle vs. pedestrian crash that critically injured a homeless man near Central Avenue & Coors Boulevard Northwest on May 22.

Ezekiel Florez, 29, was allegedly riding a white Indian motorcycle west on Central Avenue with Krystal Garcia as a passenger. Both Florez and Garcia were off-duty officers. Florez reportedly struck a homeless man and then continued riding west on Central Avenue.

First responders transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition.

Authorities went to Florez’s house looking for him and the motorcycle. The people at the home told officers they did not know where he was and refused to answer questions. Florez’s marked police car was parked in front of the residence.

Florez and Garcia returned to the scene and turned themselves in around four hours after the collision.

Authorities charged Florez with knowingly leaving the scene of an accident (great bodily harm or death). Garcia was detained for questioning. Both are on administrative leave.

Driver hurt after crashing behind Sportsman’s Warehouse

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – One person was hurt in a single-vehicle collision behind the Sportsman’s Warehouse on Renaissance Boulevard Northeast on Tuesday, according to ABQ Raw.

Witnesses saw the driver of a red sedan cross multiple lanes of traffic, go down an embankment, and crash behind the Sportsman’s Warehouse.

First responders transported the driver to an area hospital in critical condition.

The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the incident.

Accident reported in downtown Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KKOB Traffic, a crash in downtown Albuquerque was reported to authorities Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around 6:55 a.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.
