Officials ID victim, suspect in fatal hit-and-run crash in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, NM – According to KOB, officials have released the names of the suspect and victim of a deadly hit-and-run crash on Paseo de Nopal on Oct. 15.

Mario Israel Mendez, 29, was driving a Chevy Equinox when he allegedly hit Monique Maes, 43, and her two children, an 8-year-old and a 12-year-old, with his vehicle around 6:10 p.m.

First responders transported the three victims to an area hospital, where the woman died. The two children suffered minor injuries.

Following the collision, Mendez reportedly fled the scene.

Authorities located Mendez’s vehicle. They have charged Mendez with homicide by vehicle and two counts of child abuse.

Emergency crews respond to crash near The Mesa At Anderson Hills

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – First responders were called to a wreck at Dennis Chavez Blvd and Condershire Dr SW on Tuesday, according to BCSO.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 5:11 p.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Auto accident disrupts traffic near Albuquerque Meadows

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to NMRoads, a wreck blocked traffic at I-25 NB and San Antonio Dr NE on Wednesday.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 2:.03 p.m.

Officials have not provided more details.
