NORTH VALLEY, NM – According to KOB, officials have released the name of the woman who died in a crash involving a Bernalillo County deputy that occurred near Alameda Rd NE and Edith Blvd NE on Wednesday.
A deputy driving a marked BCSO Ford Explorer was following Alexandria Gerad’s silver Honda Accord because Gerad allegedly drove erratically at high speeds. The deputy tried to pull over Gerad, but she sped off.
The deputy eventually caught up with Gerad. Gerad brake-checked the deputy, causing the deputy to slam into the rear of the Accord. The collision sent the Accord crashing into a wall.
Rescue crews pronounced Gerad dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
The deputy was not hurt in the wreck.
Train collides with vehicle in Los Lunas
LOS LUNAS, NM – A person was hurt when a train hit a vehicle near NM 314 & Main St NW on Friday, according to KOAT.
The train hit the vehicle around 4 p.m. There were 26 passengers on the train.
Rescue crews transported the driver to an area hospital and assessed one person on the train for injuries. Nobody else was in the vehicle.
The Los Lunas Police Department is investigating the incident.
Wreck reported near University West
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KKOB Traffic, a crash was reported at I-25 NB and Lomas Blvd NE on Monday.
The incident happened around 6:52 a.m.
It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.
