Officer injured after driver rams into their vehicle in downtown Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KOB, a female driver allegedly injured an officer after she rammed their patrol vehicle in the parking lot of the Hilton located at 222 Central Ave SE on Friday.

Detectives performed a traffic stop on an SUV driven by Leanne Aragon. When the officer turned on their lights and pulled in front of Aragon, Arago allegedly dove around the officer and collided with two other police vehicles.

Officers ordered Aragon to exit the SUV. She got out and was arrested. Aragon had five felony warrants for her arrest.

One of the officers involved in the incident suffered head and neck injuries in the collision. Their current condition is unknown.

Woman pleads no contest to charges of vehicular homicide DWI for crash near Knob Heights

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A woman who was allegedly drunk when struck and killed a bicyclist at Gibson Blvd SE and Yale Blvd SE on June 5, 2023, pleaded no contest to her charges, according to KRQE.

Leann Grace Blackhorse, 23, was driving a pickup truck west on Gibson Blvd SE when she hit a bicyclist around 1:30 a.m.

Rescue crews pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.

A relative who had been informed of the crash told the Albuquerque Police Department that Blackhorse was the driver responsible for the collision.

Authorities charged Blackhorse with vehicular homicide DWI and leaving the scene of an accident causing great bodily harm or death.

A date for sentencing has not yet been set.

Wreck reported near La Mora Acres

SOUTH VALLEY, NM – According to BCSO, a crash was reported on Rio Bravo Blvd SW EB and Isleta Blvd SW on Friday.

The incident happened around 2:38 p.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.
